The lanes of Gautamnagar, Andheri were full of filthy sewage water for more than three years. The residents of the suburban area had tried to complain about the poor infrastructure several times to the authorities. Had this been a posh area of Mumbai, the authorities might have been quick. But this was a shanty full of lower-middle income families whose problems didn't bother the local authorities. That was until the power of media and citizen action joined forces for a change. 

Amol Lalzare, our Community Correspondent from Mumbai, documented the unhygienic conditions that the residents were forced to live next to and walk through every day. Armed with the video evidence Amol went to the local administrative authority demanding action for the dwellers of Guatamnagar. What happened next is for all to see.
